European Activism Is in the Doldrums

Shareholders are winning far fewer proxy battles this year.

Shareholder activism in Europe is at the lowest level since 2015, and fewer activists are winning proxy contexts there, according to a new report from Activist Insight, in association with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.

During the first nine months of 2019, activists launched campaigns at 117 companies based in Europe, the report shows.
