Hedge Fund Favorite JUUL Rakes in Big Bucks in Latest Fund Raise

The controversial e-cigarette maker has raised nearly $800 million in equity and debt in a fresh fund raising round.

JUUL Labs, the controversial unicorn and hedge fund favorite, has quietly pulled in a large sum of money from a new fundraising.

According to an amended Form D filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the e-cigarette maker — and lightning rod for the nation’s teenage vaping epidemic — said it raised a little more than $785 million of a planned $800 million or so from the sale of equity and debt.
