Dan Loeb’s Third Point posted a strong gain in July.
The firm’s flagship multistrategy fund, Third Point Offshore, gained 2.4 percent for the month, easily beating the Standard & Poor’s 500 stock index, which rose 1.4 percent including dividends reinvested, according to the firm’s July report.
