The market for private investments continues to sizzle — and hedge funds are getting in on the action.

In the second quarter alone, 62 initial public offerings (IPOs) raised a total of $25 billion. This is the largest number of IPOs in four years and the most capital that was raised in five years, according to IPO specialist Renaissance Capital.
