Hedge Funds Cheer Recent Deals Made by Didi

The VC arms or hedge funds of Tiger Global, Coatue, and Paulson have stakes in the Chinese ride-sharing giant, which just got a big slug of capital from a major online travel company.

Online travel giant Booking Holdings agreed last week to invest $500 million in Chinese ride-hailing giant Didi Chuxing, which also announced it is creating a unit in Japan as part of a joint-venture with long-time investor SoftBank. This was good news for investors — including several hedge fund firms and their venture capital arms that have an investment in Didi.
