Elliott Management’s activist efforts are yielding mixed results this year.

The hedge fund firm headed by Paul Singer posted gains of about 3 percent in its hedge funds this year through May, Institutional Investor has learned.

The $35 billion Elliott is outdoing the Standard & Poor’s 500, which was up 2 percent during that period.
