Morning Brief: Largest Hedge Fund Investors Make up One Quarter of Industry Capital

The number of investors that allocate $1 billion or more to hedge funds is up, but their average allocation to the funds is down, a new report finds.

The ranks of the largest investors in hedge funds continues to climb - but their average allocation is further declining. According to a new study from data tracker Preqin, the total amount of money invested in hedge funds by institutions investing $1 billion or more in them rose 11 percent, to $889 billion, as of May 2018.
