Warren Lichtenstein comes across as a charmingly unassuming fellow. That is, unless you happen to be a poorly performing CEO or a negligent board.

Since he launched hedge fund Steel Partners II more than ten years ago, the diminutive investor has rattled chief executives and boards of directors at scores of companies, seeking management changes, asset sales, recapitalizations or outright company sales.
