On a flight from Stockholm to London in February, Simon Ruddick, co-founder of hedge fund consulting firm Albourne Partners, bumped into a client, James Walsh. The two men had just attended the same hedge fund conference in Sweden and agreed that the event had been an unbelievable bore.
