ALTHOUGH HE HASN’T SKATED DOWN the right wing for Harvard University’s hockey team in 20 years, Timothy Barakett still shares the NCAA record for most game-winning goals (ten) in a season. These days the 41-year-old hedge fund manager, who turned down a contract offer from the New Jersey Devils after being picked in the first round of the National Hockey League’s 1986 supplemental draft, has been turning in clutch performances at Atticus Capital, a New Yorkbased firm he founded in 1995.
