Todd Stottlemyre, former major league pitcher, tries hand at hedge funds

Retired major league baseball pitcher Todd Stottlemyre has shifted his focus from striking out opponents to building a formidable batting average for himself within the hedge fund industry. Stottlemyre, whose 15-year career included stints with the Toronto Blue Jays, St. Louis Cardinals, Arizona Diamondbacks, Oakland Athletics and Texas Rangers, and who is the son of former New York Yankees coach and pitcher Mel Stottlemyre, has launched hedge fund firm Desert Shores Capital.
