New Jersey Pension, State Senator Clash Over Hedge Funds

The New Jersey Division of Investments says boosting its hedge fund allocation will help it meet ambitious return targets, but a state senator says the investments are too dangerous for retirees.

The New Jersey Division of Investment wants to crank up its hedge fund allocation by nearly 50 percent and to expand the scope of investments it can make, at precisely the same moment one state senator is looking to stop it from investing in hedge funds altogether.
