After two down years, hedge fund managers’ total compensation is up 15 percent, on average — and rising.

It’s safe to say that hedge fund managers are still some of the best-paid people on the planet. Even with last year’s tepid investment results for many hedge funds, total compensation for the industry’s investment professionals rose 15 percent, on average, from 2011, based on our annual survey.
