Amanda Haynes-Dale, chief compliance officer and managing director of New York fund-of-funds firm Pan Reliance, helped pioneer the fund-of-funds industry when she launched her flagship Pan Multistrategy Fund in 1991. After years as a broker-dealer representative and investment manager independently and at Wertheim & Co., which is now part of Morgan Stanley, she decided to set up her own boutique fund-of-hedge-funds shop at a time when few hedge funds even existed.
