Miller arrives

Once you,ve been to dot-com hell and back, what’s Chicago?

Ask Heidi Miller, who became a high-profile symbol of corporate Internet craziness when she ditched her job as CFO of Citigroup to become CFO of then-booming online travel service Priceline.com, which soon proceeded to unravel. Last month she joined Chicago-based Bank One as executive vice president for strategy and development, reuniting with old friend and Citi colleague Jamie Dimon, who now runs the bank. With school-age children in the New York suburbs, Miller plans to split her time between the two cities. “It,s an easy commute,” she says. Miller joined Priceline in March 2000, bailed out of the struggling company ten months later, and then spent a little more than a year at insurance broker Marsh & McLennan. Why Bank One? Miller says that her “heart was more in mainstream banking.” The Internet, however, is another story. “I laugh when I look back at the Internet,” she confesses. “I even laughed when I was there.”
