Moore Manager To Quit EM Fund

New York–based private equity and venture capital firm Moore Capital’s main emerging markets fund manager Greg Coffey is resigning from his post.

New York–based private equity and venture capital firm Moore Capital’s main emerging markets fund manager Greg Coffey is resigning from his post, Financial Times reports. The Moore Emerging Markets (MEM) fund, run by Coffey, performed poorly and witnessed investor withdrawals.

Coffey joined Moore Capital in London in 2008 from global investment manager GLG Partners. He has recently unveiled the GC Macro fund at Moore and now intends to concentrate on longer-term trading of macro themes and on opportunities with higher risk and more potential rewards. The new fund has already started trading with nearly $750 million under management.
