California Community Foundation (CCF), a public, charitable organization, is looking to invest $12 million under its Preparing Achievers for Tomorrow (PAT) initiative. The funding for PAT, a five-year plan aimed at improving opportunities and achievements by youth in South Los Angeles, comes from an anonymous donor.

CCF will provide grants to community-based nonprofits for after-school activities in music, sports and recreation for children aged 14 to 18. The foundation has chosen seven non-profit organizations for a $875,000 grant, the first in a series of PAT grants.
