Barclays Capital has hired Azuma Ohno to lead its newly created equity research team in Japan. Barclays Capital is the London-based investment banking division of Barclays Bank. Ohno will be responsible for managing Japanese brokerage, non-bank and insurance companies.
Based in Tokyo, Ohno will report to Koichiro Chiwata, head of equities research, Japan. Ohno comes to Barclays from Swiss financial services provider Credit Suisse Group, where he held a similar role. He has also been with UBS, Daiwa Securities SMBC (now Daiwa Securities Capital Markets) and the Daiwa Institute of Research Holdings.
