Jim Kane has been hired by New York–based full-service independent broker-dealer and investment-banking firm John Thomas Financial as managing director of fixed-income securities. Formerly, bond expert Kane was with New York Stock Exchange specialist firm Spear, Leeds & Kellogg.
Kane has unveiled a direct sales and trading desk for SLK Software in London after developing a sizeable niche book for U.K. and Europe-based flow. The firm also hired Mario Truglio as managing director of institutional sales and Richard Urbealis as president of its affiliate, advisory firm JTF Private Wealth Management.
