Saudi Sovereign Wealth Fund Appoints Head

Scott Lanphere has been hired by the Saudi sovereign wealth fund Sanabil al-Saudia as its new head of direct investments.

Scott Lanphere has been hired by the Saudi sovereign wealth fund Sanabil al-Saudia as its new head of direct investments, Financial News reports. He will be managing a $4.5 billion private equity program.

In addition to his new role, Lanphere will continue as director of private equity firm Aletheia Partners which he founded in 2001. Lanphere has also been with buyout firm Morgan Grenfell Private Equity, now owned by Deutsche Bank. Formed in 2008 by the Saudi government, Sanabil is a wholly owned entity of the country’s Public Investment Fund.
