The investment consulting unit of Mercer has laid off four members of its alternative research group.

The investment consulting unit of Mercer has laid off four members of its alternative research group, Pensions & Investments reports. The move comes as a result of the firm’s January acquisition of alternatives consulting firm Hammond Associates.

Among those terminated is Jeffrey Gabrione principal, Mercer’s research team and global investment leader for the firm’s alternative alpha boutique. Stephen Jones, principal, hedge fund multi-strategy research, Catherine Beard, investment analyst and Benson Hua, investment analyst, private equity, have also been laid off.
