Capital Goods/Industrial - Engineering & Construction: Third

THIRD TEAM Steven Fisher UBS

Shooting straight in to third place is Steven Fisher, who last ranked in 2009 as a runner-up. The UBS analyst pounded the table on KBR in January, at $32.24, on valuation and on its exposure to the liquefied-natural-gas market, among other considerations. (Fisher had originally upgraded the stock from neutral to buy way back in December 2007.) Shares of the Houston-based construction-services provider surged 21.3 percent, to $39.12, in July before being dragged down by market turmoil to end August at $30.05 — for a loss of 6.8 percent that paled in comparison with the sector’s 19.1 percent plunge. “Steve has a good head on his shoulders,” insists one loyalist.
