Capital Goods/Industrial - Engineering & Construction: Second

SECOND TEAM Jamie Cook  Credit Suisse

After two consecutive years in third place, Jamie Cook of Credit Suisse climbs one level to second. “Jamie has been a bull on the energy-related names, and that proved wise,” applauds one backer. Cook’s ongoing outperform on Fluor Corp. — first recommended in March 2007 — as a beneficiary of rising petroleum prices continues to please clients. Shares of the Irving, Texas–based oil services engineering company surged 37.4 percent in the 12 months through August, beating the sector by 18.2 percentage points. Less successful was her stance on rival Foster Wheeler, which is headquartered in Geneva and has operational headquarters in Clinton, New Jersey. Cook initiated coverage in June 2010 with an outperform rating, at $22.92, largely on valuation. By February the shares had catapulted 72.9 percent, to $39.63, but then plunged all the way back to $24.55 by the end of August, for a life-of-call gain of 7.1 percent. During the same period the sector advanced 12.3 percent.
