Rhode Island Mulls Six Managers

The State Investment Commission of Rhode Island has shortlisted six managers who could initiate its first hedge fund investment program.

The State Investment Commission of Rhode Island has shortlisted six managers who could initiate its first hedge fund investment program, HFMWeek reports. The $6.5 billion commission manages the assets of the state employees, teachers and municipal employees retirement funds.

The six funds, to be split between the global equity and absolute return buckets, were suggested by the commission’s alternatives consultant Cliffwater. These six funds are Ascend Partners, Davidson Kempner Capital Management, Elliot Management, Brevan Howard, DE Shaw and Och Ziff.
