Ford Foundation Grants $2M To Public Theater

New York–based Ford Foundation has gifted $2 million to The Public Theater, theatrical producer of Shakespearean and new work.

New York–based Ford Foundation has gifted $2 million to The Public Theater, theatrical producer of Shakespearean and new work, Crain’s New York Business reports. The biggest private grant will contribute to the theater’s $40 million renovation plans.

The Public Theater has already raised $37.9 million for remodeling its Lafayette Street home, due to be completed this summer. With a reopening in fall 2012, the theater will rename its lobby after the Ford Foundation.
