SEC Boosts Trading, Markets Unit

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has named Peter Curley as associate director for clearance and settlement in its trading and markets unit.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has named Peter Curley as associate director for clearance and settlement in its trading and markets unit. The division has expanded over the last two years with additional responsibility of overseeing implementation of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act rules. Brian Bussey will be associate director for derivatives policy and trading practices, adds Bloomberg.

Curley joined the division in August 2010 as attorney fellow and came from Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing, where he was head of corporate strategy and head of IPO regulation. Bussey joined the commission in 1998.
