RBS Appoints New Pensions Head

Royal Bank of Scotland has hired Ray Martin as group head of pensions and benefits.

Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) has hired Ray Martin as group head of pensions and benefits, Financial News reports. Based in Edinburgh, he will be responsible for handling the group’s £19 billion pension fund. He will make decisions on the benefits offered to RBS staff.

He will replace Peter Hurcombe, who left earlier this year to become head of benefits at BP. Martin will report to group rewards director Pippa Lambert. Previously, Martin was vice president of U.K. pensions at courier group DHL and chairman of the U.K. National Association of Pension Funds investment council, adds Professional Pensions.
