NVP India Boosts Start-Up Funding In India

Norwest Venture Partners India, the venture unit of U.S.-based Norwest Venture Partners is including seed- and late-stage transactions in its investment strategy in India.

Norwest Venture Partners India (NVP India), the venture unit of U.S.-based Norwest Venture Partners is including seed- and late-stage transactions in its investment strategy in India, Mint reports. The firm, which manages more than $3.7 billion in capital, is also adding healthcare, education and food companies to its areas of interest.

NVP India has launched its own seed program under which it will invest up to $100,000 in order to back Internet and mobile starts-ups. The investments will be made from the firm’s global fund. It will not raise a separate fund for this program. NVP India’s investments in India so far top $300 million, made in 16 deals.
