State Super Appoints New Chief

The $32 billion Australian superannuation scheme State Super has appointed John Livanas as CEO.

The $32 billion Australian superannuation scheme State Super has appointed John Livanas as CEO, Financial Standard reports. He will be substituting Chris Durack who announced his departure from State Super to join Schroder Investment Management in July. Before joining State Super, Livanas was CEO at the Australian Meat Industry Superannuation Trust’s fund AMIST Super for four years. Amist has some $1 billion in funds under management and has appointed Melinda Gibson as acting CEO for an interim period from October 21 to November 4, when Livanas is expected to leave, after which Jack Sullivan will serve as acting CEO until a substitute is appointed.
