Canadian equity funds received the maximum number of new assets in the exchange-traded fund (ETF) business in August, according to a BlackRock Asset Management Canada report, Investment Executive reports. Canadian equity ETFs collected about $1.2 billion in new assets last month.
More than 50 percent of that went to the IShares S&P/TSX 60 Index Fund, which recorded over $700 million in new assets during the month. Commodity ETFs were the second most favored and received $400 million in new assets, and fixed-income funds next with $91 million.
