The rise came as stocks surged for the fourth consecutive day on news that the world’s major central banks were partnering to provide European banks access to dollars to help stop the euro zone’s debt crisis from spreading.

The Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund had inflows of $486.2 million and the Vanguard MSCI Emerging Markets ETF collected $164.8 million in new assets. The SPDR S&P 500 ETF, however, witnessed outflows of $1.03 billion.
