Gates Foundation Adds Health Program Head

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has appointed Trevor Mundel as president of its global health program.

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has appointed Trevor Mundel as president of its global health program. Effectively from December 1, he will head the foundation’s efforts to develop and deliver drugs, vaccines and other tools to fight developing-world diseases.

Mundel will also manage the foundation’s global health grant portfolio, which includes more than $14.7 billion in grants to date. He is joining the Gates Foundation from Novartis Pharma, where he was global development head. Before that, Mundel was with Alkermes Inc. and Pfizer Inc.
