Oklahoma Expands Education Board

Governor Mary Fallin, allowed to name her own board by a new law, has added five members to the Oklahoma Board of Education’s seven-member panel.

Governor Mary Fallin, allowed to name her own board by a new law, has added five members to the Oklahoma Board of Education’s seven-member panel, Tulsa World reports. She has named state superintendent of public instruction Janet Barresi as chairwoman of the board.

Fallin has selected Phil Lakin, Lee Baxter, Bill Price and Bill Schdeed. All the members need to be confirmed by the Senate.
