India’s NHPC Eyes $403M Debt Sale

National Hydroelectric Power Corp. will raise about $403.07 million in a debt sale in the next five months.

National Hydroelectric Power Corp. (NHPC) will raise about $403.07 million in a debt sale in the next five months, Economic Times reports. The Indian hydropower generator will sell the debt at a rate of between 10 percent and 10.5 percent. The debt was needed to fund the company’s plans to add 678 megawatts in the current financial year. NHPC is executing 10 projects, which will be financed via internal resources, subordinate debt and market borrowings.
