Demand For ETFs Is Growing

The appetite for exchange-traded funds is increasing among advisers, institutions and self-directed retail investors.

The appetite for exchange-traded funds (ETFs) is increasing among advisers, institutions and self-directed retail investors, The Wall Street Journal reports. Innovation is expected to be seen in the fixed-income and active segments, ETF experts said at a conference. The appetite for these products has increased as ETFs have benefited from the transition of the financial advisory business model from compensation-based to fee-only or fee-based. Previously, financial advisers followed an index solution, said Anthony Rochte, head of the North American intermediary business group at State Street Global Advisors.
