TD Bank Raises $5B In Note Sale

Toronto-Dominion Bank has raised $5 billion through a two-part sale of covered notes in the 144a private placement market.

Toronto-Dominion Bank (TD Bank) has raised $5 billion through a two-part sale of covered notes in the 144a private placement market, Reuters reports. The first tranche of $2 billion notes, which carry a coupon rate of 0.875 percent, will mature on Sept. 12, 2014.

The second tranche of $3 billion notes, carrying a coupon rate of 1.625 percent, will be due on Sept. 14, 2016. Barclays Capital, Deutsche Bank, RBS and TD Bank were joint bookrunners for the offering.
