Macquarie Seeks To Buy $8B RBS Aviation

Macquarie Group is planning to bid for the aircraft leasing arm of the Royal Bank of Scotland.

Macquarie Group is planning to bid for the aircraft leasing arm of the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), Reuters reports. RBS Aviation may fetch between $6 billion and $8 billion from the transaction.

As a part of the deal, the buyer has appointed Goldman Sachs to prepare the sale of the aircraft leasing business, adds Bloomberg. The RBS unit sale comes as AIG plans to sell off its leasing unit International Lease Finance Corp.
