The SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY) witnessed inflows of $1.27 million on August 31 as stocks ended higher in a volatile session, Index Universe reports. Overall, investors put $2.29 billion into U.S.-listed ETFs, taking the total assets to more than $1.055 trillion from $1.047 trillion on August 29. Investors also moved $884.9 million into the SPDR Barclays Capital 1-3 Month T-Bill ETF and $88.8 million into the SPDR Gold Shares. The SPDR S&P Oil & Gas Exploration & Production ETF pulled in nearly $100 million, or about 14 percent of its assets.
