Apollo Management is likely to place its bid worth nearly $22 to $24 a share for price-point retailer chain 99 Cents Only Stores, New York Post reports. The price exceeds the $19.09 a share bid made by Leonard Green & Partners earlier in 2011. Los Angeles–based Leonard Green is now mulling a final offer that would be higher than its previous proposal of $1.3 billion. Currently, Schiffer-Gold family owns about a third of 99 Cents’ stock.
