Gold ETFs Pare Losses

Gold ETFs were scaling back losses on Friday as the debt crisis in Europe deepens.

Gold ETFs were scaling back losses on Friday as the debt crisis in Europe deepens, Barron’s reports. The SPDR Gold ETF, which had dropped 2.3 percent earlier, was down 0.4 percent and was heading for a 1.2 percent loss over the week.

The IShares Silver Trust had declined by 1.5 percent so far. At these pricing levels, the silver ETFs shares could close with a 4 percent fall for the week. The Market Vectors Gold Miners ETF lost 0.9 percent, while the Global X Silver Miners ETF was off 2.4 percent.
