Sara Delfim, Renato Mimica & team BofA Merrill Lynch Global Research
Sara Delfim co-led (with Ronald Epstein) the BofA Merrill Lynch Global Research team that claimed the top spot last year in Aerospace, Transportation & Industrials. We split that sector into Capital Goods and Transportation, and BofA claims third place in this sector under the direction of Delfim — who also leads the No. 2 team in Transportation — and Renato Mimica. The São Paulo–based trio is praised for reiterating an underperform on Metalfrio Solutions in May, when the shares spiked to 12.24 reais; they insisted that lackluster operations at the commercial refrigeration equipment maker, which is headquartered in São Paulo, would more than offset a regional demand rally. By the end of July, the stock had plunged 18.3 percent, to R10, and trailed the sector by 7.5 percentage points. “They are on top of the sector,” marvels one client. Mimica moved to BTG Pactual in June.
