Lima, Colombian Exchange Drop Merger Plan

The Lima Stock Exchange and the Colombian Stock Exchange have canceled plans to merge operations.

The Lima Stock Exchange and the Colombian Stock Exchange have canceled plans to merge operations, The Wall Street Journal reports. The stock markets of Colombia and Peru were planning to merge by the end of 2011.

In June, the plans had been delayed due to the election of Peru President Ollanta Humala. The bourses will now concentrate on enhancing the Integrated Latin American Market.
