STOXX Alters Rules To Up Index Liquidity

STOXX has introduced a series of rule enhancements to its indices.

STOXX has introduced a series of rule enhancements to its indices. These measures include a fast entry rule for STOXX’s regional blue-chip indices, the implementation of a minimum liquidity rule for its benchmark indices, including the STOXX Europe 600 Index, and using up-to-date figures in the calculation of STOXX’s regional blue-chip indices. The changes will help the company, which provides global index concepts, in dealing with the fast moving, volatile markets and improving the liquidity of index baskets. The rule for the STOXX regional blue-chip indices will allow stocks ranking in the lower buffer category quick entry into their indices. Companies must have at least €1 million in three-month average daily trading volume to be included in a STOXX benchmark index.
