Argentina has appointed Candu Energy as part of a $444 million deal to extend the life of the Embalse nuclear power plant by up to 30 years.

Argentina has appointed Candu Energy as part of a $444 million deal to extend the life of the Embalse nuclear power plant by up to 30 years, The Wall Street Journal reports. The deal also includes Argentina’s nuclear power company Nucleoelectrica Argentina. Argentina’s government will spend a total of about $1.3 billion to extend the plant’s life. The agreement with Candu Energy, a unit of SNC-Lavalin Group, includes transfer of technology to Argentina.
