Awarepoint, a San Diego maker of wireless equipment locator products for hospitals, has raised $27 million in a late stage venture capital funding round. The investment round was led by new investor Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers.

New investor Top Tier Capital Partners and existing investors Cardinal Partners, Venrock and Jafco Ventures also took part in the fund raising process. The company will use the proceeds to fuel the company’s next stage of growth and drive adoption of its aware360Platform.
