Private equity firm Apollo Global Management is seeking to acquire discount chain 99-Cent Only Stores, Reuters reports, citing New York Post. Schiffer-Gold family is looking to surrender its stake to the highest bidder. The chain had been originally acquired by the Schiffer-Golds family along with private equity firm Leonard Green for $1.34 billion in March. Schiffer-Golds own nearly one third of the company, which sells low-priced items, such as stationery, party supplies and food.
