Japan MoF Names New FX Division Head

Japan’s finance ministry has put Kenta Ichikawa at the head of its foreign exchange markets division.

Japan’s finance ministry has put Kenta Ichikawa at the head of its foreign exchange markets division, Reuters reports. The division is responsible for monitoring currency moves and conducting intervention in forex markets.

The bureaucrat was earlier responsible for compiling defense budget requests and has also held positions in regional financial cooperation and at Japan's embassy in South Korea. Ichikawa will be succeeding Toshio Oya.
