Manchester United is seeking to raise $1 billion through an initial public offering in Singapore, The Wall Street Journal reports. Credit Suisse is working on the listing, which may happen this year, adds Bloomberg.

The soccer team may sell about a 25% stake in the offering. It is reviewing options to reduce its financing costs and raise money, which could be used to buy players.
