Standard Chartered is planning to recruit 2,000 people this year.

Standard Chartered is planning to recruit 2,000 people this year, Financial Times reports. Many of the new hires will be front-office staff in the consumer division.

The U.K. bank is also planning to open at least 10 branches in China in the second half of the year. The emerging market-focused bank’s pre-tax profit rose 17% to $3.64 billion.
