Chile’s AES Raises $400M In International Debt

The Chilean unit of power company AES is raising $400 million through the sale of 10-year, dollar-denominated bonds.

The Chilean unit of power company AES is raising $400 million through the sale of 10-year, dollar-denominated bonds, The Wall Street Journal reports. AES Gener will use the money raised from the offering to refinance debt, including a U.S. bond due 2014 and a local bond due 2019. The heavily demanded bonds were sold at an interest rate of 5.25%. AES is one of the main power producers in Chile.
